June 12, 2017 – MONTHLY TOWN BOARD MEETING FOR TOWN OF FRANKLIN
The June monthly meeting for the Town of Franklin was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by Chairman Dick Wochos, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.
Officers present: Dick Wochos, Jim Wacek, Katie Duckart, Judy Kunesh and Joan Raisleger.
Katie Duckart made a motion to approve the agenda. Jim Wacek seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Jim Wacek made a motion to accept the minutes as printed from the May Town Board meeting. Katie Duckart seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Treasurer Judy Kunesh presented the Treasurer’s Report, which shows a balance of $107,305.81. Katie Duckart made a motion to accept the Treasurer’s report. Jim Wacek seconded the motion, and the motion carried.
Zoning Administrator Jeanne Swagel reported that she issued two building permits this past month.
County Board Supervisor Ron Paider reported that there will be a Sanitary Ordinance hearing on June 14, 2017 at the Adm. Center. He also commented on the water quality report recently published, and that the report was not quite accurate.
First Responder Suzi Sevcik reported that they had three calls this past month, and that they now have new AED adult and children’s pads. She also commented that there are 2 people interested in becoming First Responders, and that she is looking for a time for their training.
Chairman Wochos reported that the Bolt Road TRID project will begin on Monday and that grass cutting will start next month.
Jim Wacek made a motion to approve a Resolution Authorizing Kewaunee County to Sponsor a Local Bridge Program Project for Bridge on Old Settlers Road. Katie Duckart seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Katie Duckart made a motion to approve a Resolution Authorizing the Borrowing of Funds from the Denmark State Bank not to exceed $131,140.00 for the Bolt Road TRID Project. Jim Wacek seconded the motion. Motion carried.
The Bill and Connie Roethle rezone application was next on the agenda. Katie Duckart made a motion to go along with the Planning Commission’s recommendation to deny the rezone application for their remaining property located in Section 24. Jim Wacek seconded the motion. The vote to deny the rezone application was unanimous.
Jim Wacek then made a motion to approve the liquor license applications for 2017-2018 for Sheila’s II, Whitetail Lodge and Parallel 44 Winery and also the temporary license for Curran Community Club. Katie Duckart seconded the motion. Motion carried.
Town Orders #108 to #128 were discussed, approved and paid.
Our next monthly Town Board meeting will be Monday, July 10, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. at the Franklin Town Hall/Community Center.
There being no further discussion, the June Town Board meeting was adjourned at 7:45 p.m.
